Kai Tak's past year The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, operated and managed by Worldwide Cruise Terminals, enjoyed a year of noteworthy achievements as it stepped into its 12th year of operations in June 2025, and celebrated multiple milestones. Inaugural calls “These three ships, with a collective gross tonnage of over 280,000, included the Queen Anne, Queen Elizabeth and Norwegian Sky. The Queen Anne arrived the day prior and stayed overnight, while the Queen Elizabeth and Norwegian Sky made their arrivals on the 19th of March. Notably, the calls by Queen Anne and Norwegian Sky marked their inaugural visits to Hong Kong.” CLIA training at the Terminal For the third year in a row, WCT sponsored, hosted and jointly organized with the Cruise Line Industry Association, the Hong Kong Travel Agents Owners Association and Royal Caribbean, a full-day training workshop for over 50 ‘new-to-cruise’ travel agents at the Terminal. The workshop included training on site and an onboard tour of the technologically advanced Spectrum of the Seas, allowing agents to gain first-hand experience of modern cruise offerings. New tenants at the Terminal Three new tenants set up in the Terminal in the second half of 2025. Two Point Zero Cafe & Bar, one of Hong Kong’s newest pet-friendly cafés, opened its doors in July 2025, followed by the Global Chinese Pop Music Association in September 2025. A brand-new health and wellness shop, the Hong Kong International Medical Healthcare Management Centre, is set to open in February 2026. Memorable events at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Worldwide Cruise Terminals hosted premium, world class events at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in 2025, including a global launch event from a publicly listed electric car company, a glamorous show by a family-owned Genevan luxury watch manufacturer, a lavish and memorable outdoor winter fashion show by a prestigious French luxury goods company, the 2025 World’s 50 Best Bars Ceremony, and a number of other private and corporate events. Awards and accolades in 2025 WCT was presented with over 15 awards and certifications in 2025, highlighting our unwavering commitment to environmental and air quality management, occupational health and safety standards, racial diversity and inclusion, consumer caring and corporate social responsibility. Environmental awards recognized progress built on earlier successes such as achieving a 50% carbon footprint reduction, hosting Hong Kong’s first Tesla superchargers, performing Hong Kong’s first quantitative risk assessment for bunkering LNG, providing an electric bus charger, and other environmental achievements. The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal was also recognized as Asia’s Leading Cruise Port in 2025 by the World Travel Awards, for the third year in a row. Outlook Jeff Bent added, “2025 was a significant year for Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. Our steady resumption of cruise operations, along with our involvement in hosting so many landmark events in Hong Kong has been a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work. We are proud to be a key player in Hong Kong’s dynamic event landscape.” Bent concluded, “Looking ahead, the terminal is poised for further growth and innovation. Plans are already underway for new initiatives aimed at enhancing the experiences of overseas passengers, such as the addition of a new airport check-in and baggage delivery service. Events at the terminal are set to bring more visitors to the increasingly vibrant district.
